Family Room Recordings is my private recording studio based in Redding, California. I started recording music in 2005 out of a desire to create music on my own terms and help other artists do the same. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to record and produce my own projects as well as work with bands and musicians throughout Northern California. Whether you're recording your first demo or your next full-length album, my goal is to create a comfortable, collaborative environment where creativity comes first.
I also believe that making music shouldn't be out of reach because of cost. I do my best to keep my rates affordable so artists of all experience levels have access to high quality recording, production, and mixing services without the high price tag of a traditional commercial studio. My focus is on helping musicians create something they're proud of while keeping the process approachable, collaborative, and enjoyable.
I believe every artist has their own sound and story to tell. My approach is to help bring your vision to life while offering guidance and ideas whenever you want them. Whether you already know exactly what you're looking for or need help developing songs from the ground up, I'm here to help throughout the process. Whether you're tracking a full band, recording vocals, acoustic instruments, drums, or overdubs, I'll help capture the best possible performance in a relaxed environment. This includes microphone selection and placement, session setup, editing, and ensuring every recording session runs smoothly and efficiently.

Production goes beyond simply recording. I can help with songwriting, arranging, refining song structures, choosing tones and sounds, adding instrumentation, programming drums or beats, and offering creative feedback throughout the recording process. If you're looking to take a rough idea and turn it into a finished song, production is where that happens (recording & engineering included in this hourly rate).

Mixing is where your song comes together. I balance levels, shape the tone of each instrument, add depth and space, and make sure every element works together to create a polished, cohesive sound. Whether you've recorded with me or tracked your project elsewhere, my goal is to bring out the emotion and energy of your music while staying true to your vision.

Need an extra set of ears or another musician to help bring your song to life? I love collaborating with artists from anywhere. Whether you're looking for acoustic or electric guitar, bass, banjo, percussion, harmonies, backing vocals, or creative production ideas, I'd be happy to contribute to your project.
